Corporations and draconian IT departments out there often block many or all social media sites from employee consumption. Question is, is this really the right way to approach this? Or rather, should companies embrace their employees natural want for social media.

From the page: "A pizzeria should focus on creating a delicious pizza - and most of them have a crappy pizza and do a lot of other stuff like kebab, pasta, lasagne, hot dogs etc. Why do they do this? Maybe because they think they can create extra revenue by appealing to more people."

Sometimes people ask me how I can be so happy when I have a long-term illness, but I don't really understand the question. How could I not be happy? I'm surrounded by my loved ones, I've been to sea and travelled all over the world, and now I'm an author. Life is bloody wonderful!

From the page: "On one of my many journeys through the interweb, I bumped into a link to a little speed reading app called Spreeder. You just add any text you want to read, set the speed & it will play back at the words per minute you have set.
Looking at the display box i thought sprang to mind, It looks about the size of Twitters text box. What if i where to adjust it to play back tweet size chunks of words? So after a bit of experimenting i found what i think emulates a 140 character tweet."

From the page: "Usually a potential client will start off with "Well I know I need to be blogging...", and I'll ask them to back up and explain how they know that. They usually offer that they just assumed that blogging is the logical starting point."
Excellent article by Liz Strauss interviewing Mack Collier. I'm looking forward to the second part. :)
